Women In Mech 2022

In the first week of May, we had our first ever collaboration with the Women in Engineering Network (WEN) to hold the Women in Mech event, open to WEN members, MECHA members, and WEN Allies alike!

We booked out the Cakes n Ladders cafe on Symonds St, ordered some delicious food, and opened a drinks tabs free to all attendees to order coffees, smoothies, and frappes.

Students had the opportunity to play any of hundreds of games, while chowing down on snacks and crying over assignments together. It was nice opportunity for our women engineering students to meet up with one another outside of uni. Students in earlier stages of their degree were able to ask older students about their experience and any advice they had, all whilst throwing hands at whatever game was on the table.

Some of us tried our hands at a little civil engineering - not too shabby, but probably best we stick with mech!
